Minnesota’s colors are changing.

My mind races to past family trips to see the changing of the colors along Lake Superior. The weekend expeditions would mean cameras, sweaters, picnic baskets and other gear to make the trip a success.

In keeping with tradition, I headed to Enger Tower Park in Duluth, Minnesota to see colors that are starting to change. This is a five-story observation tower named after Bert Enger, an immigrant from Norway and resident of Duluth. Tower was dedicated by Crown Prince Olav and Crown Princess Martha of Norway in 1939. There is a panoramic view of Lake Superior and the Duluth area awaiting for you after the climb to the top.
(It was very windy when I made the climb and really wished I was wearing gloves, but was wearing my sweater from Norway.)

I also caught part of an outdoor wedding at the park and heard the Peace Bell Tower from Duluth’s sister city in Japan. There are picnic tables, restrooms and even a stone shelter, not to mention the gardens. Learn more about Enger Park Tower.
