I do displaced worker up right with the help of CNN!
Ok, something is wrong with the statement above. First, displaced worker, the nice wording for unemployed or laid off worker, has a confusing sound to it, but I have been featured on CNN several times in a promotional video related to our nation’s election called America’s Choice.
I have a great work history, and returned home to Minnesota just over a year ago to be with my mother before she died and help my aunt in another nursing home. I found a job, but was laid off as the position was eliminated. Click to view my professional profile.
The year 2011 brought challenges. This year, 2012, I’m ready for opportunties!
When I travel, I love to go to the local grocery store.
The last grocery store departed my small town of Murdock, Minnesota, population, 303, many years ago, but there is a small grocery in Kerkhoven. I can remember as a child visiting my grandparents in Murdock, and my mother would just have the items added to the store credit, with a bill sent at the end of the month. There is a restaurant in Murdock, but it has not been open for years. This could be a reason to blog about food!
My family for years as stopped at the Lunds grocery store on Wayzata Boulevard in Wayzata, Minnesota, on the way to the Twin Cities. The variety of the foods from around the world is enough for me to walk around the cheese section several times, like I was in a museum. The fresh fish, including the salmon, stopped me in my tracks, with conversations with the gentlemen advising me about the varieties of fish.
This morning I added smoked salmon to my eggs, inspired by a video I watched from the Food Network. Take a look at the video by Giada De Laurentiis for more ideas.
Click here to view CNN iReport video on another unemployment Monday. The reality is there are many displaced worker in the United States, laid off from their jobs. I just happen to be one of them.
I plan to post every Monday under the topic Another Unemployment Monday until I get a job. I’ll check in with the state of Minnesota for my unemployment, then check in here on my blog. I might even tell you what jobs I’m interested and how the process is working, or not working.

Home made Greek Yogurt by Jannet Walsh, Minnesota Native Daughter.
I made my first successful batch of yogurt, Greek style, the thick type with less liquid, on the stove top and finished it off in a crockpot. A video and details to follow. Here is one of the links I got my ideas for the experiment.
I will update with a video on how to remove the whey to make the thicker yogurt, called Greek Yogurt.

Blogging by LED light during Christmas Season. By Jannet Walsh, Minnesota Native Daughter
Nothing beats blogging by light-emitting diode, LED, flameless candle lantern during the Christmas season. The candle has a timer feature, will turn off after five hours and goes on again at the same time you turned it on. I got mine at Hererger’s in Willmar, and I’m testing it before I give it as a gift to see it really works.
